Short answers to the questions we get most often about custom branded merchandise in Canada. If you don’t see yours, send us the details and we’ll reply the same day.
What's the minimum order for promotional products in Canada?
Most apparel starts at 12 pieces. Hard goods like pens, water bottles, and notebooks typically start at 50–100 pieces depending on the decoration method. Some setups don’t pencil out below 200 units — we’ll tell you honestly if your quantity doesn’t work.
How long does promotional product decoration take in Canada?
Standard production is 10–15 business days from artwork approval for most decorated promo. Rush windows of 3–5 business days are possible on pens, totes, water bottles, and apparel when stock and decoration method allow. Screenprinted and pad-printed items rush better than embroidered or sublimated items.
Are your promotional products made in Canada?
The decoration happens in our Vancouver shop. The blanks themselves — pens, water bottles, tote bags — come from the North American and overseas suppliers the whole industry uses. When Canadian-made blanks are required, roughly a dozen categories are possible — ask and we’ll tell you which.
How much do promotional products cost in Canada?
It depends almost entirely on the decoration method and quantity. A one-colour screenprinted tote bag at 100 pieces runs about $6–8 each decorated. A laser-engraved stainless tumbler at 50 pieces runs $18–25. A pad-printed pen at 500 pieces runs $1.50–2.50. Send us what you’re thinking and we’ll quote same-day.
What's the cheapest promotional product that still looks professional?
Custom pens at 250+ pieces usually come in under $2 each all-in and still look sharp with a clean one-colour print. Screenprinted tote bags at 100+ pieces are next. Below those, you’re either paying a setup fee that wrecks the economics or buying something that’ll look cheap no matter what you do.
Can I get a free sample of a promotional product before ordering?
Unbranded samples of specific products — yes, ask. Branded samples with your logo applied — usually not free, because the setup is the expensive part. We’d rather produce a virtual proof PDF that shows exactly how your logo will land on the product, which is how most of the industry handles this.
What's the best promotional product for a trade show?
It depends on the booth. For walk-by traffic, something small, branded, and immediately useful — pens, stickers, lip balm. For qualified leads you actually talk to, something better — a notebook, a water bottle, a cap. Most companies overspend on giveaways for strangers and underspend on gifts for real prospects. Match the product to the conversation tier.
Do you offer eco-friendly or sustainable promotional products?
We do — bamboo, recycled plastic, organic cotton, RPET. Honest take: the eco category is heavily greenwashed. The genuinely sustainable choice is usually buying fewer, better items that people actually keep. We’ll help you tell the difference between real-sustainable and marketing-sustainable.
Can you match our exact brand colour (Pantone) on promotional products?
Yes on most decoration methods. Screenprinting and pad printing can hit a Pantone match with a $25–40 ink mix fee. Embroidery threads match Pantone within a range — we’ll show you the closest thread colour before production. DTF and DTG are close but not exact Pantone-capable.
What's the difference between a promotional product distributor and a decorator?
A distributor sells you a catalog product and outsources the decoration — they’re the middleman between you and whoever runs the press. A decorator runs the machines in-house. We’re a decorator. That’s why our pricing is usually lower and our turnarounds tighter on decorated work — we’re not waiting on a vendor to fit us into their queue.
