For knit custom socks: 48–100 pairs minimum depending on style. For sublimated athletic socks: 50 pairs. Below those minimums, setup costs dominate the per-pair price. Most of our customers order 100–500 pairs, which is the quantity range where cost-per-sock drops significantly.
Knit socks have your design knit into the fabric itself — every colour you see is a separate yarn. The look is premium and tactile (think high-end athletic socks), and the design lasts the life of the sock. Sublimated socks are printed onto polyester — allows photo-realistic detail, gradients, and unlimited colours, but has a slightly ‘printed’ look versus the textured feel of knit. Knit is usually the right answer for team and branded socks; sublimated wins for full-colour artistic or photo designs.
Standard sizing runs youth (ages 4–7), youth medium (8–12), adult small/medium (men’s 6–9 / women’s 5–10), and adult large/XL (men’s 10–13). Custom sizing available at higher quantities. Mixed-size orders (some youth, some adult) don’t cost extra — we just need the breakdown in your quote request.
Best: bold logos, team colours, repeating patterns, team names down the leg, and player numbers. Avoid: fine line-work or small text under 8pt (gets lost in the knit texture), photographic detail (use sublimation instead), and Pantone-critical corporate colours on knit (we can get close, but not exact).
Construction, length, colour count and quantity. Knit team socks are priced by pattern complexity and colour count. Sublimated athletic socks are generally more economical. Knit has a one-time setup fee for the pattern, waived on reorders of the same design. Sublimation setup is minimal. Price per pair drops substantially at 500 pairs. We will quote your exact design and quantity.
Knit socks: 4–6 weeks from artwork approval — they’re produced at the mill, and knit patterns can’t be rushed much. Sublimated socks: 2–3 weeks. Rush production available on sublimation only (20% premium for 7–10 business days). For team or event deadlines, book 6–8 weeks out to be safe.
Knit: cotton/nylon/spandex blend (typically 75/20/5) for everyday comfort; premium options include merino wool for cold-weather and bamboo/cotton for moisture-wicking. Sublimated: 100% polyester for full-colour print fidelity, or polyester/spandex blends for athletic stretch. We’ll match fabric to end use.
Yes — athletic socks are one of our most popular custom categories. We use performance polyester blends with spandex for compression and shape retention. Options include crew, quarter, no-show, and knee-high; arch compression and cushioned heel/toe available. Great for hockey teams, soccer clubs, baseball, running clubs, and corporate sports sponsorships.
On knit socks, we match Pantone as closely as available yarn allows — typically within 1–2 shades of your Pantone target. Exact Pantone matching on knit is chemically limited by dye availability. On sublimated socks, Pantone matching is much closer — the print process gives us near-exact colour reproduction. If exact team-colour match is critical, sublimated is usually the safer choice.
Yes — all standard sock heights are available. Crew (mid-calf) is the most popular for team sportwear and everyday wear. Ankle/quarter for running and athletic use. No-show for casual and dress-shoe wear. Knee-high for soccer, hockey, rugby, and lacrosse. Over-the-knee available at 250+ pair runs. Mix and match in a single order is fine.
